Who has to file and income tax return?

The filing requirements for U.S. citizens and residents depend
on three factors:
- Gross Income
- Filing Status
- Age

John and Jane were married and living togeather at the end of the tax year. John is age 65 and Jane is age 66. John received a pension amount of $17,600. John and Jane received interest and dividends in the amount of $3,250. John and Jane have no other income.

John and Jane have a gross income of $20,850. John and Jane do not have to file an income tax return.
