Great TV Shows About Hospital Staff

There are so many great TV shows about hospital staff; it's difficult to even figure out where to begin listing them. It seems that in recent years the fascination with doctors, nurses, paramedics and other healthcare professionals has grown steadily year after year, with more and more television series following the lives of these men and women appearing on the airwaves. The following series are some of the most popular contemporary TV shows about hospital staff:

ER: Michael Crichton's show about a Chicago emergency room was one of the most successful and longest running shows about hospital staff, running for 15 seasons between 1994 and 2009. The series elevated George Clooney's career and featured the likes of Angela Bassett, Anthony Edwards, Julianna Marguiles, Mekhi Phifer, Eriq La Salle, John Stamos, Maura Tierney and Noah Wiley.

House: This series, now in its seventh season, centers on the character Dr. Gregory House (played by Hugh Laurie), who is a grumpy and unconventional medical genius. He often makes very controversial decisions and butts heads with hospital administrators, but the tough calls tend to pay off in the end.

Grey's Anatomy: Since its debut in 2005, this has remained one of the most popular TV shows about hospital staff. The plot revolves around the interns, residents and other staff at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital, where Dr. Meredith Grey works. The series launched the careers of Patrick Dempsey, Katherine Heigl and Sandra Oh.

Chicago Hope: This series came out in 1994, the same year as ER, and ran until 2000. Many critics found similarities between it and the other series, especially since they take place in the same city, but there are many differences to be sure. Chicago Hope centers on hotshot surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Geiger, who has emotional issues resulting from his wife's psychiatric condition.

Scrubs: For eight seasons Zack Braff was the popular protagonist of this comedy series that follows a group of doctors and nurses from their days as interns throughout their successful medical careers. In the ninth season, however, Braff left the series, and cast member Kerry Bishe, who plays Lucy Bennett, took over as the protagonist whose thoughts the show follows.

Glamour...what girl doesn't want it? From hair to make up, jewelry and clothes, every girl wants to look her best. A face is like a blank canvas waiting to be painted and can only be made more beautiful with colorful cosmetics. One celebrity songstress using this trend with great success is Nicki Minaj. Many compare her to Lil'Kim, but no one can deny she has a style all her own. If you want to get the Nicki Minaj make up look, it's easier than you think.

Nicki Minaj's look is bright and fun. It's versatile because you can tone it down for the day and go all out for those special nights. Her main technique is to use vibrant eyeshadow colors and bright pink lipstick. Some call this the "Barbie look." For sexy looking eyes, Nicki does the "smoky eye" look in different colors. For this look you can get eye shadow palettes with bright colors, mainly a lot of pinks, yellows, blues and purples from brands like Coastal Scents, Sephora or Mac. Her cosmetics brand of choice is Mac, due to the fact that the colors are highly pigmented and are available in 8 finishes, such as frost, matte, and satin. The intense color provides a dramatic look that will make your eyes pop! She also uses white shadow on the inner corners to make the other colors stand out. Use black eye liner (pencil or a powder which you can apply wet for a more dramatic look) and black mascara. You can add lashes to emphasize the eyes.

One staple you'll need to achieve the Nicki Minaj make up style is bright candy pink lipstick. Her favorite MAC lipstick is "Pink Nouveau." At one point, she and MAC collaborated to create her own color called "Pink Friday." It was a limited edition color and only available for 4 Fridays while her album Pink Friday was released. It's no longer available, but don't worry, a bright pink lipstick is never hard to find. To get the shiny lip look, be sure to apply lipstick with pink lipgloss over it.

To copy the rest of her look, you'll want to apply foundation and mineral powder which matches your skin for a smooth, flawless, face. Use concealer to hide problem spots, such as discoloration and pimples. Dot lightly over spots and blend in. Her cheek color is a deep pink, so apply a bright pink blush to your cheeks. When applying cosmetics requiring a brush, be sure to use quality brushes to ensure even application of colors. If you follow the above steps, you are sure to stun all your friends on girl's night out!

In summary, here are the essentials for the Nicki Minaj make up look:

  • Bright pink lipstick and blush
  • Pink lipgloss
  • Bright eye shadow colors (pink, yellow, blue, purple, white)
  • Black eye liner and mascara
  • Foundation and mineral powder (concealer, if needed)

For those of you who are visual learners, there's a lot of Nicki Minaj make up tutorials online for you to watch. Having a step by step guide can make this process easier. So if you'd like to achieve her bright and fun look, now you have the knowledge to do it.

Build a Web Page using HTML

Web Pages are written in HTML. HTML is used to create the structure
of a Web Page. HTML uses tags to describe the parts of the Web Page,
for example, headings and paragraphs.

All HTML is enclosed within <html> and </html> tags. It is good programming
style for HTML tag names to be in lower case. Notice the first tag in
the snippet ( <! DOCTYPE html> ). This line of code tells the Web Browser what
type of document to display.

<! DOCTYPE html> <html>
</html>

Add the head section of the document using the <head> and </head> tags. The <title> and
</title> tags allow you to specify the title of the document. The title
of the document appears in the Web Browser tab when the Web Page is loaded.

<head><title>Lorem Ipsum</title></head>

Now, add a the body section of the page. The body section of the page is where
the content of the page is to be put. Within the <body> and </body> tags is where
the content of the Web Page is to be put, and to be structured.

Add the document body section to the Web Page. Add a heading and two paragraphs.

<body>

<h1>Lorem Ipsum</h1>

<p>Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s.</p>

Who was Amy WInehouse?

Heart, Soul and Anger are just a few of the emotions that can take a regular song, and make it into a great one. It takes an awesome singer to make that great song into an unforgettable one. Amy Winehouse was that singer and the music world will forever miss her. There are those few shining stars that come through the music industry and you know that they will be a first and a last. Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, and Kurt Cobain are just a few of the excellent cadidates.
I recently saw an interview on PBS Masters, that featured Mary Wilson who saw Marvin Gaye in Beglium and he played "Sexual Healing" for her for the first time and she nearly jumped out of her seat. He told her that night, that he didn't know if it would be a hit or not. Mary Wilson, felt like most of the people who still hear the song today and sing-along with it: inspired. Winehouse's music had the same intensity, reality and soulful sound. Amy Winehouse's voice was pure beauty, she had a soulful sound, and loved the style of the Girls' groups from the 60's.
This perfect mix elevated her image and music to another level. At 24, she had grammy nods and eventually took home 6 of them. She helped to introduce this new young generation to the sound of Motown and wore a beehive while doing it. If you listen to her vocals on, "Will you Still Love Me Tomorrow?," you will feel goosebumps as she goes into the first verse. With her passing this week, the music world grew a little darker. And yes, Amy, we will still love you tomorrow and forever, you will be sorely missed.
