LeBron James - Everything You Need to Know

LeBron Raymone James, an American professional basketball player, Nicknamed "King James", and the three times "Mr. Basket Ball" of Ohio in high school, was born on the 30th, December, 1984 in Akron, Ohio. His mother Gloria was only sixteen when he was born. His biological father, Anthony McClelland, who was an ex-convict, left Gloria. James was brought up by his mother alone. He had a difficult childhood. One of his mother's boyfriends called Eddie Jackson played an important role in the life and career of James. In his presence James did not feel the absence of a father.

LeBron was a natural athlete and took part in basketball and football. While he was in school at St. Vincent-St.Mary school in Akron, that he came across coach Frankie Walker who was the basket ball coach in school. He understood that James had a difficult childhood and so had resorted to violence and drugs. Walker not only coached him but also wanted him to go and live with him so that he got a chance to live a normal life. He taught LeBron how to shoot and by the time James was in eighth grade he could play all five positions and had a very good understanding of the game.

The time had come for James to show off his skills on court. He went to USA basket ball development festival, where he broke all the scoring records. He was highly promoted in the National media as "The future NBA Superstar".

He was scheduled to play in 2004 Slam Dunk contest, but was prevented because of ankle injury.

He was only 18 when he was picked as the "Roukie of the year" 2003-04. He was also picked up as the" Most valuable player in 2008-09".

He was named "NBA player of the week" for three consecutive weeks. He became the youngest Player to achieve 10,000 points in 23 years and 59 days in only 368 games.

He was announced as the "NBA Most Valuable player" for the second time in 2009

He was often called "The Chosen One" by the sports writers.

He has been a member of the USA national team, Winning a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympic and the gold at the 2008 Olympics.

He is signed up with the Miami Heat for the 2010 season.

He has endorsed products like Nike, Sprite, Glaceau, McDonald's, Upper deck, Bubblicious etc.

He appeared on the cover of "Vogue" in 2008. He is only the third man to appear on the cover after Richard Gere and George Clooney. He donated $ 20,000 to a committee to elect Barack Obama. He has a number of tattoos all over his body.

He has two children with his high school sweetheart Savannah Brinson.
